Hi everyone.
I've never been really good with keeping diaries. But sometimes, just like everyone else, I have things on my mind, good and bad. Maybe someone will get something out of it? Maybe I will get more out of it. But, there's no loss in trying.
I'm going to stick to one topic at a time. Thought today was a some-what eventful day.
Today, was the annual "Auckland Seafood festival". Some might say, I'm not the "target market" (which I think I kind of am), but in a nut-shell, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. You see, it turns out, that for the $15 entry feel, you don't actually get anything other than.... the entry. Apparently (thanks Auckland City Ambassidor), last year, you could have had some sample wines, etc. But this year, even a 150ml was couple of bucks. Recession? Yeah, probably.
Additional disappointment probably had to be the fact that the food wasn't that overly fantastic. Though, I have to also be fair, that some of the food stalls that I have seen there, I have seen at the Auckland Food and Wine fest, or the Parnell French market. E.g., if you haven't yet, the Paella would have been a good pick. The "raw fish" that I got for $5 was tasty, but the volume was somewhat.. yeah, you get the drift.
All bad? No, actually. Weather was nice, though those who knows me well would probably know that I'm not the "weather" kind of person. Though I enjoyed seeing the sea and the water. The Mac's Issac cider in the hot summer sun definitely went down well. It would have made my day if I could listen to the band that was playing when I came in, but they already swapped with another band. Lucky me got to catch one of the band member, and made sure I got their CD's. Who are they? They call themselves The Balzats. Apparently, it's the whole family. I just loved it. (www.thebalzats.com).
That's my short first entry. Should start looking up my mates and link them in. Talking about nerdy PC next, I think.
